2 Comments | Nothing ground breaking here, but I use these resources on a daily bases. I really have a problem finding the icon I need in the folders on my computer, so I usually just go searching online. Here's my favorite places to get free icons. Icons have become incredible visual communicator for web designers trying to keep the content the focus for making great usable sites. Icons help support the content without become a visual distraction.
IconLook
Icon look is where I go for a lot of my icon inspiration. A pretty straight forward icon search engine. It's a great place to start you heading in the right direction.
IconArchive
Icon Archive is a great resource for complete sets of free icons. Some great modern icons, and if you want to go old school, you've got the old 8-bit style.

Smashing Magazine

Ok, so I go to the crew at Smashing Magazine for just about everything, and icons are no exception. They have several articles spotlighting great sets of icons, but this is my favorite. I usually go here for inspiration on coming up with my own.
